A Cure for the Wiggles

How do you convince an 11 yr. old that his history is more exciting than speeding down a hill (of very wet snow) on a sled?

Turn off the lights and light the oil lamp.

And when he complains that he still can't see, light some candles too!

History may never be the same again.☺

Love the fixture with the candles....I'm going to have to look for one of those. :) Great way to get kids doing their school work...we've struggled all week long to stay on task given the blast of winter we received. Back to normal now....snow is about gone. :) Thanks for the tip!

You might also include some history about sledding (and skiing) down hills--such as the courageous kids kid in WWII in northern Europe to cross enemy lines to perk up his interest.

Just a thought!

Oh my! I gave in and my kids played like crazy. We did do a little schooling in the morning, but I just couldn't say no...

Kids are so funny - I can totally see my guys doing this. You're so smart for thinking of it! :) And I will probably steal the idea once. Or twice. But I'll make sure I give you credit. :)
